ISME General Assembly
The ISME General Assembly is held during each world conference and this was a particularly important one as members were invited to vote for a new constitution and bylaws. The following decisions were made or announced:

- The new constitution and bylaws were passed and came into force with immediate effect
- The rise in delegate fees, in keeping with CPI, was approved
- Honorary life membership was bestowed on Clifford Madsen and Marie McCarthy
- Emily Akuno, from Kenya, was declared the next president-elect, following a vote by members
- The new Board was announced, following a vote by members
